What is the Pomodoro Technique?
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. It uses a timer to break work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. Each interval is known as a "pomodoro," named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer Cirillo used as a university student.
The technique helps students and professionals improve focus and productivity by working in short, concentrated bursts. After four pomodoros, you take a longer break of 15-30 minutes to recharge. Research shows that this method reduces mental fatigue and helps maintain high levels of concentration throughout study sessions.
